Wonder Woman's Goin' Bananas!
"We've got a gorilla for sale Magilla Gorilla for sale"... Here we go, a more family friendly image of Wonder Woman. She just jammin' with her old pal/arch nemesis Gorilla Grodd... "We've got a gorilla for sale Magilla Gorilla for sale"
This image was created with a pencil drawing on bristol board. Then I scanned it in to the computer and digitally inked the image in photoshop. I then proceeded to color it in photoshop.

Wonder Woman's Demise!!!
GASP!!! What a Worrisome Web Wonder Woman has Woven herself into! Don't worry viewers Wonder Woman has everything "Under Control" except for her "Underwear". (And if worse comes to worse she can fly and Doomsday Clones can't.)
Finally a new image! I felt like I tweeked this one forever. I penciled and inked this illustration on bristol board, then I scanned it onto my Mac and digitally colored it in photoshop. Its 2:00am and I have no idea what time I have to work tomorrow. So I'm going to let you all enjoy the image and go to bed... actually I have to find out what time I'm going to work... and then I'm going to Skyrim. Then perhaps sleep somewhere in there.

Medusa the College Scholar
I created this original Comic Strip. I wanted it to show the ackward life of Medusa a fearsome god killing Titan trying to go to a regular college. I thought it was funny, Cha cha cha. Oh also this is the first of my artwork to be published. It was in the Daytona State School Newspaper. So it was a very small publication but published non the less, so hooray for me.

I'm Back!!!
Okay I know it has been a long time but I am back! I have been busy trying to produce some comic book page art and I've just been kinda out of my groove. The reason why I am out of my groove is because I lost a Gears of War art contest. This image above is one of the illustrations I entered for the contest. No worries even though I lost I am slowly getting my groove back. I'll post some images of some original comic book page art I am working on. Oh and I also have some Wonder Woman stuff so stay tuned.

Preview of Awesomeness!
Just a preview of two images that I am working on. I cant wait to get these drawings finished I'm going to add some wicked special effects when I color them in photoshop! I have to remember Draw everyday, Draw everyday!
Good Advice
Things have been really stressful at my job lately (because its the busy season). And when I get stressed out its difficult to draw and create art. Its one of the main reasons that I want to just do artwork full time for a living. So went through a slump of not drawing anything for awhile. Finally I talked to my oldest brother and he told me that before Jim Lee was a professional comic book artist he drew artwork everyday as if he were doing it for a living. Hearing this has inspired me to go back to one of my old principles and that is to draw everyday. I'm glad my brother gave me that advice, it helped me brake the anxiety spell that I was under.
So I've been getting back into the groove of drawing everyday and the image above is of the superhero team that I created. I've redesigned them and tweaked them a little. I even have a new name for there group. But you will have to stay tuned to find out the new name, I'll reveal that later.

The Battle was not Lost...
One of my plans for becoming a full time illustrator was to at least place one of the top 25 monsters in a Rift art contest. Unfortunately I did not place at all. Its okay though I've learned a lot through out this ordeal, such as: I noticed that most of the winners had multiple entries which increases your odds of winning. Also all of the winners had either a painterly style or a realistic style, the style I used was more of a comic book, marker coloring style. But Im not giving up I believe that the battle is not lost because I'll use what I have learned to win the next contest. Which also coincides with the image I entered for the contest, the amazons are fighting a tough battle but all is not lost they can rescue their mermaid deity and kill the giant crab monster. Oh and congratulations to everyone who placed top 25.

After Megacon...
I attended Megacon (An Orlando Comic Book Convention) this past spring and I showed my portfolio to alot of different artist. In the end I decided that if I was going to be a professional illustrator I needed to take my artwork to the next level. So after Megacon I decided to push my artistic abilities. And I came up with this illustration that I call "Epic Volleyball Jam". I posted it on my deviantart page http://andrewjpierce.deviantart.com/#/d3jdomh So if you are on deviantart.com look me up. But this is just the beginning of me pushing myself creatively I will continue to grow and create awesome images.
First Blog Post!
Hey whats up everyone. Just wanted to break the ice off my new blog by introducing myself. My name is Andrew J. Pierce and I am an illustrator. The purpose of this blog is to display previews of artwork in progress as well as finished illustrations. I also wanted you to be able to follow me as I turn my passion for illustration into a carreer. Currently I work at a hotel to pay my bills in Daytona Beach. But it has always been a dream of mine to make a living off of art. I am currently going to school at Daytona State College for Graphic Design. I have to finish one class and I will finally have an A.S. Degree. Since I was a child I have always loved comic book art and drawing so it just seems proper to turn this dream into a career. Well I think that intro is good enough. Next post well have some artwork in it.
