Preview of Awesomeness!

Just a preview of two images that I am working on. I cant wait to get these drawings finished I'm going to add some wicked special effects when I color them in photoshop! I have to remember Draw everyday, Draw everyday!

Good Advice

Things have been really stressful at my job lately (because its the busy season). And when I get stressed out its difficult to draw and create art. Its one of the main reasons that I want to just do artwork full time for a living. So went through a slump of not drawing anything for awhile. Finally I talked to my oldest brother and he told me that before  Jim Lee was a professional comic book artist he drew artwork everyday as if he were doing it for a living. Hearing this has inspired me to go back to one of my old principles and that is to draw everyday. I'm glad my brother gave me that advice, it helped me brake the anxiety spell that I was under.
So I've been getting back into the groove of drawing everyday and the image above is of the superhero team that I created. I've redesigned them and tweaked them a little. I even have a new name for there group. But you will have to stay tuned to find out the new name, I'll reveal that later.

The Battle was not Lost...

One of my plans for becoming a full time illustrator was to at least place one of the top 25 monsters in a Rift art contest. Unfortunately I did not place at all. Its okay though I've learned a lot through out this ordeal, such as: I noticed that most of the winners had multiple entries which increases your odds of winning. Also all of the winners had either a painterly style or a realistic style, the style I used was more of a comic book, marker coloring style. But Im not giving up I believe that the battle is not lost because I'll use what I have learned to win the next contest. Which also coincides with the image I entered for the contest, the amazons are fighting a tough battle but all is not lost they can rescue their mermaid deity and kill the giant crab monster. Oh and congratulations to everyone who placed top 25.
