Venom Cola RAW

Just adding the ol' raw images of the She-Hulk short comic that I created. Raw of course meaning no word bubbles. She-Hulk has always been one of my favorite characters (John Byrne's She-Hulk to be exact). I'm sure I've said that a thousand times on my blog & I'll probably say it a thousand more.

Red She-Hulk FanArt RAW

As promised, this is the Raw images of the Red She-Hulk fan art I created (The version without the word bubbles). When I created these illustrations Red She-Hulk was brand new and I didn't know her secret identity. She was introduced as a mystery villain/rouge character so I thought she would make a great rival for Jen Walters aka She-Hulk "Prime". But it turned out to be Betty Ross aka Hulks girlfriend so she is a good guy now. It is not unusual for a bad character turn good like Venom, Magneto, Lady Death... man this list was hard to come up with, maybe it is unusual for villains to turn good. Anyways I guess I don't mind her turning out to be good but do we really need two good She-Hulks I think giving She-Hulk an arch nemesis would have been better but "whatta ya going to do?" Its all really cool comic book stuff anyways.

The Awesome Mastermind Remix

I remixed this image sometime in April 2014. I will put the links to the two illustrations that I merged together to get this one at the bottom of the post. Alright this is it. This is the last of my old school art that I am going to post for now. I have some old school illustrations of a super hero team that I will post later (probably when I update the teams look). But for as of right now all of the work that I had on my old d.a. account I have posted here. I do still need to upload the raw images of the two She-Hulk shorts that I made so I will do that next. But after that it will be brand new 2014 illustrations from here on out baby. I think I'll post some new Sugar Love illustrations... hmm

Chocolate Cheesecake

This is an illustration of an original character I created named Princess Chocolate. I created this pin-up back in April 2010. I drew the image with a mechanical pencil on Bristol Board paper. Then I inked the illustration using a brush and a Archival pen. I scanned it into the computer and colored it with photoshop.

This illustration reminds me of my Graphic Design classes that I took at Daytona State College. I created this image back when I was taking classes and I remember I used a really large professional light table to ink the illustration (At home I use a make shift light table that I created with a lamp and an old glass table). I remember showing Chocolate Cheesecake to my mentor/design instructor for the first time. She had seen my illustrations before but she was still impressed, it made me feel awesome. This is one of my all time favorite illustrations it brings back good memories & I feel like I just got it right.

Princess Chocolate Portrait

I created this portrait back in March 2010. It is an illustration of an original character that I created named Princess Chocolate. I drew the image on Bristol Board paper with a mechanical pencil then I scan the image into photoshop where I color it. Oh I also inked this image using a brush and ink pens.

Will I can't believe its winding down. I'm down to the last few images left of my old school portfolio. I will be posting one of my favorite pin up illustrations next. So stay tuned.

Red She-Hulk Short Fanart

Alright Finally! Let me just say I would have posted this a lot sooner if it wasn't for life getting in the way lol. Okay on to it then... I drew these fan art illustrations back in March 2011, on bristol board paper with a mechanical pencil. But I never colored them in photoshop back then. So since I've been posting all of my old artwork to the blog I figure now would be a good time to color these images. So I colored it April 2014, in photoshop.
These short comics are inspired by the pages of Marvel Comics HULK vol.2 #16 --> https://comicstore.marvel.com/Hulk-Vol-2/comics-series/915 The plan was to do two pages of comic book art that was inspired by a current comic book so that I could personally judge myself in terms of page art. I think the test worked pretty well I was happy with the pencil line art so I never got around to coloring it.
I will post the raw images soon. "Raw" as in no word bubbles just the artwork. So stay tuned.

Comic Book Art

These are two remixes to illustrations that I created as covers for short comic books. The She-Hulk in the Venom outfit illustration has already been posted. The second image is of Red She-Hulk holding a bazooka. I color my illustrations in photoshop and every so often I play around and see what the images will look like if I colorize the the different layers that I work in. Just thought I would share. I will be posting the Red She-Hulk short comic soon.

Venom Cola

I created this short comic back in January 2010. She-Hulk is one of my favorite comic book characters and this is a short fan art comic of her. I remember I made the Pin-up of She-Hulk in the Venom outfit first, then after that I thought it would be cool to create a mini comic to go along with it. I only made two pages of this comic and I don't plan on making any more. However I do plan on doing more She-Hulk fan art in the future. I am working on a comic book that is way sexier than this one is that features my own original characters.

I drew these illustrations on 11x17 bristol board paper with mechanical pencils. Then I scanned the image onto my iMac where I colored it with Photoshop. The last step is to do the lettering in Adobe Illustrator. The process is pretty fun, I enjoy creating art its relaxing and the end result is cool to look at when your done.

Next up I will be posting Red She-Hulk short comic. Also I will post the raw illustrations of this short comic, Venom Cola, with no word bubbles.

The Awesome Artistic Avenger

I created this illustration back in November 2010. The illustration is an assignment for my illustration class, the assignment was to draw a self portrait as a comic book cover. I drew the artwork on bristol board 11x17 paper. I used pencil to draw the illustration then I inked it with a brush and archival pen. I colored the illustration in photoshop, and I used a program called Flame Painter to do the swooshing special effects.

We are getting down to the last of my old school illustrations. I saved the best for last and next I well be posting one of my most viewed short comics. After I finish posting my old school illustrations I will be posting brand new stuff including some illustrations of the independent comic book that I am drawing and writing myself. So stay tuned.

Cheesecake Heroes Cloaking Device

This is a remix of the illustration Cheesecake Heroes. I color my illustrations in photoshop and by doing so it allows me to create images in different layers. While playing around and seeing what the image looked like without the main colors I noticed that the image looked like the ladies were wearing suits that had a cloaking device. I thought it looked cool so I figured I'd share.

Cheesecake Heroes

I created this illustration back in December 2010. The illustration was for the cover of a magazine that I did for a publishing class. Female action heroes, large arm canons & laser swords... these are my roots y'all. I like how the image can work when flipped upside down so I decided to post both versions of it. Featured in the illustration or two cartoon models that I have used previously. I will post there links at the bottom of the post.

My Favorite Dragon

This is an illustration that I did back in June 2010 for an art contest. The art contest was sponsored by mentos the mint candy maker. It is an image of a boy riding on a mint dragon. I think I imagined that the dragon can be summoned by the container of mints the boy is holding. I did not place nor win the contest but it turned out looking pretty cool so I figured that I would share it with y'all.

Cake Classes

This is an illustration I did back in August 2010 for my College Newspaper. For one semester I worked as an illustrator for the campus paper and I actually got an award for it as well. I suppose since I never posted those awards I should post them next. Sounds like a plan, getting back to the illustration--> one of the writers wrote a story about how some students were taking really easy classes to round out their electives and bring up their gpa, so the college editor asked me to do this illustration. She requested it because when I showed her my portfolio to get the job I had an awesome pin up illustration of a woman sitting on cheesecake, so she wanted me to do something like that, and so I did. I will be posting the cheesecake illustration soon so stay tuned.

Your Typical Garden Variety

I created this image as a follow up illustration just for fun. I wanted to see what the character would look like in different colors. I remember presenting this to my portfolio class a few years ago, they thought it was pretty cool. Hope you enjoy.

Garden Sorceress

I created this illustration June 2010 for a online video game character creation contest. I did not win nor did I place but I came up with a pretty cool character design. And I have an idea for a story that I can put her in but it may be couple of years before that comes to fruition. Right now I'm busy working on my "Sugar Love" project. Enjoy.

Moonlight

Sailor Moon & Twilight parody illustration... say what!? I created this image back in August 2010. It was a commission requested by my sister for a Sailor Moon fan site art contest. The theme was to draw a book cover front & back that mixed Sailor Moon with Twilight. I did the artwork but my sister wrote all of the funny stuff on the back of the book cover. Shout out to Janelle Pierce. We won first place in the contest which is always awesome.

The illustration features the following characters. Helios who is a wereunicorn and his first apearance in the anime is "Meeting of Fate! The Night Where a Pegasus Flies". (Awesome super power by the way, you could totally get any woman you ever wanted if you could turn into a unicorn, just saying'). Peruru or "Perle" who is a fairy. First appearance was in Sailor Moon Super S movie. And finally Chibiusa which is the civilian identity of Sailor Chibi Moon. The most well known of the trio in this illustration she is the young, short Sailor Scout with the pink hair. Her first anime appearance is "An Angel? A Devil? Mysterious Girl from the Sky".

I used my old school manga style for this illustration but back then it was my current regular style. As seen in these other illustrations.

Old School Naruto Fan Art

This illustration is some old fan art of Naruto that I did back in the day.  October 2009 to be exact. I'm a huge fan of the series the combat sequences have really inspired. I've always wanted to draw more Naruto fan art but who has the time.

New Blog Header Update

Just updated the ol' Blog Header. And I also changed the look of the Blog. Putting my design skills to the test. Since I'm updating all of my old school images I figured I should make the blog header image match whats going on in the post. I think I am about half way done with updating the old images. So after I upload the rest of the old illustrations I will have to reveal the new images. Well I guess I better get back to work on the new illustrations, enjoy.

You Catch More Flies With...

Originally I created the "inked drawing with photoshop colors" first in an attempt to win a science fiction contest. I did not win nor did I even place, but it inspired me to illustrate the character eating a fly and it inspired me to do a remix of the original illustration using a digital inking/painting style. I thought her chest and the bottom of her legs came out pretty cool. Very exotic looking with a strange twist. The titles of the artwork from top to bottom is "You Catch More Flies With...Remix!", "You Catch More Flies With... (original)" & "It taste like Chicken". I originally created these back May 2009 Hope you enjoy.

New! Red She Hulk Flavored!

I created this image back in January 2010 it is a companion illustration to the Green She Hulk pin-up --> http://andrewjpierceart.blogspot.com/2014/02/new-she-hulk-flavored.html And I also did a remix of the image making Red She Hulk into a normal woman --> http://andrewjpierceart.blogspot.com/2013/05/i-figure-i-might-as-well-post-this-image.html I believe Red She Hulk was pretty new when I created these illustrations. When I was drawing them Red She Hulk was a villain and her identity was a mystery.

New! She Hulk Flavored!

This is a pin up illustration I did of She Hulk back in January 2010. After creating this image I made a remix of it you can see it at this link--> http://andrewjpierceart.blogspot.com/2013/05/blue-berry-flavored.html I remember that enjoyed creating this image a lot. It is cool to come up with an idea for a pin up, create the pin up and then look at the pin up. Also She Hulk is one of my all time favorite Heroines (Especially John Byrnes Sensational She Hulk late 80's early 90's, no other She Hulk comic artist and writer has ever depicted her as super cool as he did.) Enjoy the pin up.

Harley Quinn Illustration

Oh Harley, Only you can get away with that joke. This another illustration I did back in October 2010 that I am posting now, while I work on some awesome new illustrations. This is one of my favorites though I think I say that a lot. Hope you all enjoy.

Phantom Lady's "Tentacle Tango"

Tentacle monster art, getting back to my roots lol. My latest post is an illustration of DC Comic's Phantom Lady being attacked by a tentacle monster. I have always liked Japanese anime and manga art that depicts tentacle monsters and beautiful women and this illustration is inspired by that. This image was created in August 2010, don't know why I waited so long to post it.

Wonder & Thunder

Another old school DC comics character pin-up illustration created in December 2009. This one features Wonder Woman and Thunder. Of course everyone knows who Wonder Woman is but Thunder is a more obscure character. She is the daughter of Black Lightning and recently she was put in a short cartoony cartoon on cartoon network featuring her as a little girl with her Dad and her sister. My thunder is all grown up as depicted in old school DC comics. Well thats enough history for one post, enjoy.

Thunder Fan Art

This is another DC Comics fan art done in manga style. I created this image back in December 2009. I have to confess its still one of my favorites. I remember that I was still trying to master coloring in Photoshop so this was new and fresh to me. Also ♫I like Big Butts and I can not lie♫

Wonder Woman Fan Art

Posting some fan art that I did of Wonder Woman. I created this image back in December of 2009. Had a manga style going on for sure. I like the bright colors I think its a cool through back.

Oldschool Superman & Wonder Woman

An old attempt at a young Superman & a young Wonder Woman. Anime style for sure. I created these images back in December 2009. I actually did a string of DC Comic characters in my cartoony anime style I will be posting the rest shortly. There is certainly room for improvement but not a total disgrace neither. I've always been proud of the work that I do and I put a lot of time and effort into my illustrations. But sometimes looking at old images does leave me feeling a little awkward... like "I can't believe I thought that image looked so awesome." Oh well heres to progress.

Halibel Fanart

This illustration is fan art that I did of a character named Tier Harribel (also known as Halibel) from the anime and manga series Bleach. She is a villain in the series and apart of the toughest antagonist group in the series the"Arrancar".
One of the first illustrations I colored with photoshop, the third if I remember correctly. Big Barda portrait was first, Fran's portrait was second and Harribel was third. The file on my computer says I colored it in 8/2009. This illustration is one of my favorites. I'm glad I pulled it out of the old vault. Ahhh... good times.

Big Barda Portait

This is an old school illustration I did of Big Barda. The file date says May 2009 but I think I drew this earlier than that. Big Barda is a comic book heroine that was created by late great Jack Kirby. She has been in DC comic books forever now and probably is most well known for her stories which team her up with Superman & her Hubby Miracleman. This image is a "throwback" to my anime style I used to use a lot back in the day. I guess we will be seeing this style for the next couple of post.

Fran Fan Art

This is a portrait of a character named Fran from Final Fantasy XII. She is an all around bad ass amazon, pilot, air pirate and a weapons specialist. In the fantasy setting of the video game she stars in she stands out above the rest of the cast, literally she is super tall. Fran is my favorite Final Fanatsy character to date followed closely by Lightning & the rest of the cast from Final Fantasy XIII.

According to my file info on my Mac the sketch file says I scanned it in 4/26/2009 & the psd file says I started coloring this in 8/11/2009. So I finished drawing this illustration April 2009 & I colored it in August 2009. No school like the old school.
